Your safety matters. These guidelines are recommendations that help travelers, vendors, and trip managers stay safe while using ChaloSaath. They are not a substitute for your own judgement or for applicable laws. Please read them before every trip.
1. Before You Book
- Read the full listing, inclusions, exclusions, and reviews carefully.
- Check the vendor's verification badge and the reviews from past travelers.
- Message the vendor through ChaloSaath to clarify anything unclear — do not move to private channels until you are comfortable.
- Share a copy of your itinerary with a family member or friend.
- Carry original ID and travel documents, plus photocopies stored separately.
2. Verifying Your Vendor / Trip Manager
- Prefer vendors with the Verified badge and public reviews.
- Ask for valid licence, registration, or insurance documents for rentals and group transport.
- Confirm the pickup point, emergency contact, and the vendor's live phone number before travel day.
- For trip managers — check their experience, past testimonials, languages spoken, and whether they will accompany you or only plan the trip.
3. Payments & Fraud Safety
- Only pay to the UPI ID displayed on your booking's payment screen. Do not send money to any other UPI handle shared over chat / phone.
- ChaloSaath will never ask for your UPI PIN, bank OTP, or card CVV. Share only the UTR and screenshot of a completed payment.
- If a vendor asks for extra cash outside the listed price, report it immediately to support@chalosaath.in.
- Be cautious of deals that are unusually cheap or ask you to go "off-platform".
4. On the Trip
- Wear a helmet on every two-wheeler ride and seatbelts in cars.
- Do not ride or drive under the influence of alcohol or substances.
- Respect local laws, permits, protected areas, and indigenous / religious sites.
- Avoid risky shortcuts; stick to approved trekking routes and certified guides in the mountains.
- Keep a basic first-aid kit, sufficient water, power bank, and warm layers when travelling to high-altitude or remote destinations.
- Check local weather and advisories; reschedule if conditions are unsafe.
5. For Solo & Women Travelers
- Share your live location with a trusted contact during transit.
- Prefer accommodations with verified public reviews and clear safety features.
- Trust your instincts — if something feels off, leave and contact us.
- Save local emergency numbers (see below) and the contact of your vendor and trip manager.
6. For Group Trips & Verified Taxi Services
- Meet at well-lit, public pickup points.
- Always confirm the driver's identity, photo ID and vehicle number against the booking before boarding.
- Verified taxi service partners on ChaloSaath have submitted commercial driving licence, vehicle RC, fitness certificate and insurance — only book taxis carrying the "Verified" badge.
- For airport transfers, share your live location with one trusted contact for the entire ride.
- Be respectful of co-travelers; report any uncomfortable behaviour by a driver immediately to support@chalosaath.in.
7. For Vendors & Trip Managers
- Keep your vehicle / property serviced, insured, and compliant with all applicable laws.
- Brief travelers clearly about safety procedures, emergency contacts, and local risks.
- Do not overbook beyond your stated capacity.
- Report any incident honestly to ChaloSaath within 24 hours.
8. Emergency Contacts (India)
- National Emergency: 112

9. Reporting an Incident
If you experience an unsafe situation during a ChaloSaath booking, please prioritise your safety and the above emergency numbers first. Once safe, report the incident to support@chalosaath.in with the booking ID, date, and a description. We take every report seriously and may suspend vendors pending investigation.
